We have the July tours available now as we held them to one side whilst we organised the dates for the HM Plant Honda British Superbike Team to visit and ride at Redtread.

Hang up your leathers and grab a pair of mx pants, park up the race ´Blade for a couple of days and chuck a leg over a CRF.... that’s exactly what Britain’s Honda BSB team riders will be doing when they arrive at Redtread for a weekend of fun in the sun!

Leon Haslam, Cal Crutchlow, John McGuinness and Steve Brogan plus the HM Plant entourage will be getting down and dirty with Redtread in August. They will be heading out onto the trails to experience the fantastic riding on offer here in Southern Spain.

Seems that Honda UK were delighted with the way we performed in our first 12 months and were very pleased with the professional manner in which we conducted ourselves within their business.

As a result of doing a good job, were delighted to welcome both Mr Steve Martindale (General Manager, Honda UK - Motorcycles) and the legendary Mr Neil Tuxworth (Manager – Honda UK Racing) to Redtread Towers in April to discuss Redtread´s future with Honda.
After their visit, more 2008 450´s and 250´s arrived at Redtread which gives you the customer, a chance to ride the latest models – a great way of try and buy!

We now have 2 CRF230F´s, 3 x CRF250X´s and 9 x CRF450X´s – all 2007 and 2008 models, so a total of 14 bikes which is a great number because we have 14 beds in our apartments which all stacks up very nicely.

So finally, thanks to Honda for their support and their belief in Redtread.

Are you ready for a whole new adventure....?

We have been planning to go to Morocco for over a year now but have basically sat back and listened to the comments that people who have already been there have said about their riding experiences, both good and bad. There are lots of companies out there taking your money and offering a trip of a lifetime in Morocco and bar one company already doing Morocco, they aint got a clue what they are doing, which is pretty dangerous in a 3rd world country.

We have listened to what our customers have said they would like to achieve from riding in Morocco and we have actively involved ourselves in blog forums on the subject of riding in Morocco and have now reached the point where we are ready to go and do our first reconnaissance of both the route we will use and sample the hotels we will stay in.

Mick Extance has ridden extensively in the area during both his training and actual competing in several Dakar Rally’s and you´ll get to ride out with the Off Road Master plus he´ll throw in sand dunes riding tuition and navigation exercises plus tons of fun ! The Tours will start in 2009 with actual dates to be finalised over the next few months, Mick Extance and myself will be your guides. We will only be using the CRF450X´s and they will all be equipped with 25 litre fuel tanks. Other specialised equipment will be provided to the riding group to ensure your safety. You will ride a route comprising of approximately 1000km loop which will be ridden over 5-6 days. We aim to spend quality time riding in the fantastic dunes which Mick describes as “the 7th wonder of the world”. Redtread will transport the bikes and riding kit into Morocco to the starting point using our own transport which is a 22ft long 6 seater Ford F-350 pick-up equipped with a 7.3L V8 motor and 4 wheel drive which can carry 5 bikes on its back plus we will be hauling a trailer to deal with the rest of the bikes, spares and kit. The pick-up truck will carry fuel, spares plus all your clothes and make-up (limited space available – Elliott leave your hair straighteners at home this time!) each day from one hotel to the next. we don´t rent in sub standard equipment – everything we use in Morocco is owned and maintained by Redtread.. Here is the Redtread back-up battle truck for Morocco. Its 3½ tons of bad ass attitude. Ford´s F350 Dually 4x4 Crew cab long bed!! We think it will do the job well. Approximate cost will be 1600 - 1700 pounds per person plus flights, which will basically include pretty much everything. Total number of customers per tour will be 8 people, all of whom must be competent off-roaders. This tour is not suitable for novices. There is no problem coming to Redtread Spain as a novice and getting lots of tuition under your belt...then doing Morocco. Actual dates for these tours will be advertised on the Redtread website shortly.

After last year’s awful outcome and the Dakar being cancelled, some of you fab Redtread customers gave money to Mick which was used up in getting him prepared and out there. Thank you for helping him.

Redtread is now into its 6th year. We have been virtually at full capacity, which is around 350 bums on seats per year, for the last 2 years. We are really happy and you guys appear to be very happy with what we offer, you keep coming back for more riding so happy days all round I guess!

We won´t be doing franchises all over Spain and taking over the world, we are keeping things just as they are, just how you tell us you like it, small, friendly and perfectly formed.

Of course we are constantly learning and improving but I do think the saying that my father taught me which is “if it isn’t broke, don´t fix it” really does apply.

Lots more WAG´s are coming to visit along with their riding fellas and enjoy lounging around the pool when the boys go riding, in the peace and quiet of the Redtread grounds...or enjoying a Reike Massage under the olive trees...mmmm...summer sun!

We´ve also had a couple of riding Doris´s too, special hello to Mel and Louise who both did fantastic for girls!! (Sal wrote that bit).

Mick Extance is going to be getting more involved in sweeping the Redtread tours which is an added bonus for anyone booking a tour – and don´t worry, he won´t ride off at 200 mph and leave you...he´ll be offering advice and tuition along with Ian.
